Virtual affair leads to real divorce for UK couple

A virtual affair is ending a real-life marriage in southwest England.

Amy Taylor filed for divorce when she discovered her husband cheating in Second Life — an online community where players adopt personas called avatars, mingle with others and teleport themselves into a series of artificial worlds.

TOKYO, October 23, 2008 – Police in Japan have arrested a woman who murdered the avatar of her online ex-husband in "Maple Story," a popular interactive game. She reportedly used his login information, which she had obtained while they were "married," to delete his digital persona after he suddenly divorced her.
